

Tamoxifen is an oral drug manufactured by Dabur Pharma and containing active substance Tamoxifen Citrate, which is a non-steroidal with strong anti-estrogenic properties. In medicine Tamoxifen is currently used for the treatment of both early and advanced estrogen receptor positive breast cancer in pre- and post-menopausal women. Additionally, it is the most common hormone treatment for male breast cancer. This drug also shows the ability to increase production of follicle stimulating hormone and LH luteinizing hormone in the male body. Tamoxifen comes in boxes, each unit containing 50 pills (20 mg/pill).

The most common serious side effects that may occur while using Tamoxifen are: sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body, sudden severe headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance, chest pain, sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, fast heart rate, pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs, nausea, loss of appetite, increased thirst, muscle weakness, confusion, and feeling tired or restless, unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge or irregular menstrual periods. Less serious side effects are hot flashes, bone pain, joint pain, or tumor pain, swelling in your hands or feet,vaginal itching or dryness, decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm, headache, dizziness, depression and thinning hair.
